Amkunj Beach

If you’re driving through Rangat and want to take a break from the long journey, Amkunj Beach is the kind of place where you’ll naturally feel like stopping. Unlike the white sandy beaches that most people associate with Andaman, Amkunj has a rugged coastline, peaceful surroundings, and a charm that’s completely its own. Instead of crowds and water sports, you’ll find the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and a quiet atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the beautifully designed wooden log benches, eco-huts, and shaded seating areas, all created using natural materials by the Forest Department. These eco-friendly structures blend perfectly with the surroundings, making the beach one of the cleanest and most thoughtfully developed attractions in Middle Andaman. It’s an ideal place to stretch your legs, enjoy the sea breeze, click a few memorable photos, and simply take in the beauty of nature.

Amkunj Beach is not recommended for swimming because of its rocky shoreline, but that’s exactly what makes it different. If you’re looking for a peaceful stop on your way to Mayabunder or Diglipur, this hidden gem is well worth adding to your itinerary.
