Wandoor Beach

Wandoor Beach

Many travellers visit Wandoor Beach not just for its peaceful shoreline, but because it’s the starting point for some of the most beautiful islands in the Andaman Islands. Located about 25 km from Port Blair, this quiet beach is the gateway to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, from where boats depart for Jolly Buoy Island and Red Skin Island.

Compared to the busier beaches around Port Blair, Wandoor feels more relaxed and less crowded. The long stretch of soft sand, swaying coconut trees, and gentle sea breeze make it a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy nature. It’s also a favourite spot for photography, evening walks, and watching the sunset over the Bay of Bengal.

If you’re planning a trip to Jolly Buoy or Red Skin Island, you’ll pass through Wandoor. Even if you’re not taking a boat, the beach itself is worth visiting for its peaceful atmosphere and scenic coastal views.
